Camp Bow Wow and the importance of corporate culture
Heidi Ganahl is the CEO and founder of Camp Bow Wow, an incredible place for dogs in the USA, it offers daycare and accommodation services with the best service and staff, this dream materialized after faced a tragic event, a terrible plane accident in which her husband and the father of her best friend died, after a while, thanks to family support and her strong entrepreneurial spirit, in 2000 she started the first Bow Wow camp this great idea later became a franchise, which at first was a challenge, but it allowed Heidi to have a vision of something that she loved; without a doubt, something crucial that the company had and that should be maintained was the "corporate culture" that is not only part of what is visible, such as the logos, the colors, the slogan, the website, the uniforms, but also at the end of the day it is like the world perceives the company, the brand and each of the members, the values, the beliefs, that is, everything intangible.
Having a strong business culture is one of the greatest challenges faced by franchisees, this must be creative and innovative which does not allow workers to go outside the parameters and always be able to have a balance between doing things well for customers and working harmoniously with co-workers, you are aware that each franchise owner has their own style and even workers from other cultures and that enriches the brand, you have to learn to work with that, always respecting the value of the brand and what it represents for the clients.
The book “Understanding management” defines culture as “the set of key values, beliefs, understandings, and norms shared by members of an organization.” Companies that understand the importance of creating and sharing a corporate culture are more successful because they encourage the productivity and commitment of their employees by motivating and caring for them, creating a strong brand identity, this not only the workers see and live it within the work environment, this culture is perceived and valued by the user who recognizes the value of the service and the product through the experience and perception of the company.
